Follow these steps to fix an ADF Jam on HP OfficeJet 5200 Printers:
- On your printer control panel, click OK to clear the Jam.
- If the error continues, manually clear the jam.
- Open the ADF cover.
- Remove any jammed paper from the rollers.
- Lift the green tab and remove any additional jammed paper.
- Push down the green tab, and then close the ADF cover.
- Double-check that both sides of the cover are snapped in place.
- Try scanning from the ADF again.
- Continue to the next step, if error persists.
- Clean the paper feed rollers and the separator pad in the ADF to help minimize jams and skewing.
- Open the ADF cover.
- Dip a lint-free cloth in distilled water.
- Press the damp cloth against the rollers, and rotate them upward to remove any dust or buildup.
- Then, wipe down the separator pad until it’s clean.
- Allow the rollers and the separator pad to dry for about ten minutes.
- Close the ADF cover, again checking that both sides are snapped down.
- Try to scan from the ADF.
- If the ADF jam continues, service the printer.
