Follow these steps to unpack and clean parts on the HP Jet Fusion 3D Processing Station:
- Do not remove the build unit for at least 30 minutes after printing.
- After you remove the build unit, additional cooling time is required.
- A full build cools in 48 hours.
- HP recommends that you wear nitrile gloves when unpacking 3D printed parts.
- When prompted by the printer front panel, open the door, extract the build unit, place the safety lid over it, and move it aside for additional cooling time.
- Insert the build unit into the processing station.
- Open the flaps, remove the safety lid, place it on the front of the build unit, and then close the door.
- Use the build unit app on the processing station’s front panel to check that the build is ready for unpacking.
- Touch Build unit, then Unpack, and then Start to activate the vacuum and dust extractor.
- Close the hood to improve the performance of the dust extractor.
- Use the buttons on the platform to raise or lower the printing platform to make the unpacking process more convenient.
- Grab the reusable material collector.
- Lift the build unit platform by pressing the button until the vacuum reaches the area you want to clean.
- Clean each part separately to avoid having clumps of material covering the part.
- The excess material is removed during sandblasting and post processing.
- A part that is free of clumps and major debris with some remaining material is ready for bead blasting.
- Continue vacuuming all parts from the build chamber and make sure the platform is in the highest position when finished.
- Make sure all parts are unpacked, and then place them in a box and transport them to the post-processing area.
- With the printing platform still at its highest position, vacuum the empty printing platform.
- Touch Finish on the front panel.
- For post-processing methods, contact your HP support representative to discuss solutions for your specific needs.
